A PoC Deployment in the IMS and its Simulation

Nowadays IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) has been applied in more and more areas to deploy multimedia services to satisfy people’s willing to share services seamlessly accessed over wireless, wireline, cable, and Internet Protocols that lead to a new level of interoperability and deliverability of services anywhere, anytime and on any-type of termination device. By IMS Service Delivery Platform (SDP) the interfaces and protocols have been standardized, making it much easier for providers of new IMS services such as Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC), Presence, Interactive Games, IPTV, Conferencing and etc. Among which, the PoC is the first and more maturational technology in people’s daily lives. To further enhance and complement IMS service creation, we have utilized Java programming using JAIN SIP APIs to simulate the PoC service. So in order to demonstrate the PoC service, we will firstly focus on the PoC usage in the IMS and its main architecture in this paper, and depict the PoC service with its signaling transport control protocols and some scenarios of session flow. Then we will also discuss our practical implement of the simulation that has been instantiated by using Java programming to show its capability and convenience. At last we will make some conclusions.
